The pain it won't end, even if she falls in love

She lay by his side,
watching him breathe,
movement on his chest,
so constant so serene.

She snug up to him,
took the scent of his body,
planted a kiss on his cheeks,
as he pulled her closer to him,
and kissed her forehead.

A smile formed on her lips,
hid that smile from him,
because she refuse to let him,
know that she enjoys him more.

As they embraced in a hug,
he lit a cigarette,
smoked it away,
sharing puffs with her.
She never felt more peaceful.

He kissed her lips,
in between puffs,
kissed her shoulder,
and rested his head there.
She hugged him tighter,
and it felt just right....
