The innocent can never last

He picked her up,
all proud, all excited.
She should have noticed,
but she didn't at all and it,
broke him, disappointment,
fills his eyes, anger overcomes.

That morning,
everything in the room,
filled with so much tension,
so much anger, so much chaos.
She said things she never meant,
things she could never take backs,
things that she have grown to regret.

One week pass,
and she couldn't get through,
all her calls left unanswered,
