Kuingin berulang manisnya bersama

Ramadan 2020 came, and it has left indefinitely.
It has proven to be the most challenging Ramadan thus far;
Ramadan in isolation.
The past 1 month has been bittersweet and a little bit of salty.
Welcoming this holy month being home
is something we don't get often, if at all.

I'd say the family fare alright, the first two weeks being tough.
Tough because everyone was just warming up being in close proximity with each other,
7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
Squabbles, shouting game during sahur, sulking and throwing face at each other.

Something unexpected happened tonight,
right after we break our fast together one last time this year;
Abang thanked Him for the pandemic because we finally got to spend Ramadan together,
as a family of 3.

The past years, we don't get to see each other often during Ramadan due to work.
One year, mom left us for a quarter of Ramadan, only being back the last week before Raya.
This year, she cooked a storm for us almost everyday for break fast.
We hugged and thanked mom for doing all this for us this year.
And that was the one human touch I have felt in months.

All the fighting and crying the past 1 month has all its blessing.
I couldn't thank Him enough for letting us through this together as a family.

With God's will, we'll see another Ramadan next year.
And even though this family is somewhat dysfunctional,
I am blessed to go through this tough times with them.

Eid Mubarak to my family and friends.
